Essential Functions:

  1. Fundamental duties of the position

  2. Considered Essential includes, but is not limited to:

    (I) Position exists to perform the function; (II) Limited number of employees can perform the function; and/or
    (III) May be highly specialized; the person is hired for their experience

  3. Evidence of an Essential Function includes, but is not limited to:

    (I) The employer's judgement;
    (II) Written job descriptions prepared before advertising or interviewing; (III) Amount of time spent performing the functions;
    (IV) Consequences of not requiring the incubment to perform the functions;
    (V) Work of past incumbents; an/or
    (VI) Current work of incumbents in similar jobs.
