Quiz 2 Study Guide

The quiz will take place on Tuesday, April 21. This will be a short quiz for which you should be able to identify the following:

  1. Function words (determiners, prepositions, conjunctions).
  2. Sentence elements (subjects, predicates, direct objects, indiect objects, object complements).
  3. Predicate types (transitive, intransitive, linking).
  4. Nonfinite verb phrases (infinitive, present participle, past participle, gerund).
  5. Sentence Types (simple, compound, complex, compound-complex).

You should be able to look at sentences and label items in the above categories which you find in those sentences.
