What is SHPE?
 
SHPE is a non-profit student based organization established at cal State University, Northridge in 1976.
 
What does SHPE do?
 
SHPE provides its members with extracurricular activities to imporve their personal, academic, and professional skills that will be necessary for their future careers.
 
Mission?
SHPE promotes the development of Hispanics inengineering, science and other technical professions to achieve educational excellence, economic opportunity and social equity.
 
What does SHPE have to offer me?
 
SHPE will give you the skills that are necessary to market yourself after you have finished your education by building strong communication skills and increasing competence in your respective field.
 
Do I need to be Hispanic/Engineer to join?
 
NO!!! Of course not. SHPE welcomes anyone and everyone who likes to have fun, learn life long lessons and meet life long friends. In the past (and present) SHPE has had a diverse membership of races and majors.
 
How can I join SHPE?
 
You can join SHPE by filling out an application found at the MEP office in the Jacaranda Hall (formerly known as the Engineering building) or in the Mechanical Engineering Department, where it can also be turned in.  You can also bring the application to our Wednesday meetings at 1622a Jacaranda Hall CSUN   (download application here)
