Transfer Advisement

Hi, Welcome to the Computer Science Department. I am the Academic Advisor for majors in Computer Science (CS) and Computer Information Technology (CIT). I primarily advise students who have already applied to CSUN as a transfer student or are about to. If you are looking for information on general admission, graduate admission, or financial aid then see the links at the end of this page.

If you are transferring to CS or CIT, from a community college or a university, then you will need to have a meeting with me to discuss your academic program and also to remove the enrollment hold in Solar. Please call 818-677-3398 to schedule an appointment.

If you are out of town, I can hold advisement sessions via Google chat (please be ready with Google chat setup and test it out, before you make an appointment). All meetings whether F2F or virtual last approximately 30 minutes and in all cases you will need to make an appointment at the above number.

Please look over the following material before you schedule a meeting with me. This will enable me to help and guide you better, because you will be better informed to ask meaningful questions.

All students, must take the Upper Division Writing Proficiency Test (UDWPE) by the time they complete 75 units. Being a transfer student, you should plan to take the UDWPE in the first semester you are at CSUN. See UDWPE home page at http://www.csun.edu/~udwpe1/

Students transferring classes from Community colleges, other CSU, or UC campuses should visit the Assist.org website for

NO SHOWS: Once you make an appointment, I reserve the time exclusively for you. If you do not keep the appointment then you waste my time and also deprive others from meeting with me. Except for real and documented emergencies, you will not get any priority considerations for making up missed appointments.
