AAAS Technology Policy Science and Engineering Fellowships: Fellows spend one year, working at the RAND Critical Technologies Institute, providing analytical support to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. Issues involve industrial research and development, technology transfer, international competitiveness, and related issues. Minimum of 5 years industrial experience as mid level or senior executive. Security clearance required. Stipend negotiable.

AAAS Environmental Science & Engineering Fellowship: Fellows work at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's headquarters in Washington DC, on any array of projects relating to science, policy, and the environmental projects in risk assessment. Stipend is $52,000.

AAAS Risk Assessment Science & Engineering Fellowship: Fellows work for one year at either the US Department of Agriculture or the US Food & Drug Administration, providing scientific and technical input on issues relating to human health, economic, and environmental aspects of risk assessment or risk management. Stipend is $52,000.

01/15 Alexander Hollaender Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowship Program Applicants must have received a doctoral degree (PhD, MD, DVM, or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline (or completed all internship or residency requirements) after April 30, 1997, or must complete all phone: (423) 576-9975 such requirements prior to starting the appointment. Fellows receive an annual stipend of $37,500 the first year and $40,500 the second year. Inbound travel and moving expenses (limit $2,500) are reimbursed according to the ORISE Travel and Moving Policies. Participants are eligible for limited reimbursements to cover the cost of medical insurance. Fellowships are for one year, are renewable for a second year upon recommendation of the laboratory at which the fellowship is held, and are subject to the availability of funds.

  American Planning Association (APA) Fellowships Planning Fellowships: Must be a US or Canada citizen and member of one of the following groups: African-American, Native American, or Hispanic American; must be enrolled (preferably full-time) in a graduate planning program accredited by the Planning Accreditation Board. Continuous Associated Western Universities, Inc. NorthWest Division Postgraduate Fellowships: Applicants are accepted at anytime, but usually within two to three months of prior to the starting date. To insure optimum consideration, Submit by February 1 for summer, by March 20 for fall and by October 20 for spring. Applicants must have identified a host scientist and a research project at a cooperating faculty before sending their completed application to AWU.

Tuition Scholarships for Study in the US

All scholarships are for full-time graduate study, unless otherwise stated. Applicants must be US citizen or permanent residents of Polish descent, or Americans non-Polish descent studying Polish subjects. All scholarships are awarded for 1 academic year; in exceptional cases scholarship may be renewed upon re-application. Stipend varies $1,000-$5,000. Faxed applications are not accepted.

Support for Americans in continuing their graduate studies in Poland, or for faculty wishing to spend their sabbaticals in Poland. Must have academic excellence and a working knowledge of Polish. Grantees receive tuition and housing plus an allowance per month. Stipends for students without a master's are lower. No provisions for dependents or airfare. 

Priority given to doctoral and post-doctoral students and scholars. Minimum GPA 3.0, and special achievements and extra -curricular activities, academic interest in Polish subjects and/or involvement in the Polish-American community. Scholarships range from $1000 to $5000 for one academic year.

The purpose of USINDO travel grants is to promote the study of Indonesia by U.S. students and to encourage programs of Indonesian studies in U.S. academic institutions.

 Travel grants are awarded to and administered by the institution, and are facilitated by a contract signed between the Society and the institution’s representative. The entire award amount must be passed to the student; the Society pays no overhead.

The nominated student must be a U.S. citizen and must be enrolled in a degree program. Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible; in practice most nominated students in the past have been graduate students. The student may be enrolled in any department. However the Society is particularly interested to encourage the social sciences: anthropology, economics, history, government, international relations, literature, religion, philosophy.
