Mill Pond

Mill Pond is on the southern arm of land than encloses the Mill Pond in Burnt Coat Harbor. The site faces to the south and near the mouth of the harbor. Harbor Island blocks the entrance to Burnt Coat Harbor, so the Mill Pond site is quite protected except from swells from the southwest. The intertidal is a mixture of cobbles and boulders with a few granite ledges. Ascophyllum dominates the mid zone but mussels and barnacles are common in the low zone and are often found under the rockweed in the mid zone.
