ACTIVITIES FOR TEACHER CANDIDATES IN E ED 578D STUDENT TEACHING

 

  1. Reflective journal.  Maintain a reflective journal about your experiences during the student teaching assignment.  The journal should include reference to all assignments and activities completed during the assignment.  You will submit the reflective journal to your university supervisor.
  2. Student Teaching Folder.  Maintain an updated student teaching folder available in your classroom at all times.  In this folder, you need to have weekly plan book pages, lesson pans for lessons with evaluation feedback fro your university supervisor and supervising teacher attached. (depending on who saw the lesson), and assessment charts (see below).
  3. Daily Lesson Plans.  Plan, implement, evaluate, and modify daily lesson plans in all curriculum areas as guided by your supervising teacher and supervisor in accordance with suggested timeline for involvement in the classroom.
  4. Modification Plans for Lessons.  Plan and implement modifications in lesson plans for EL learners and exceptional learners in inclusion classrooms as guided by your supervising teacher and university supervisor.
  5. Assessment Charts.  Assess student learning and use assessment data to inform planning and instruction.  Compile information into a chart that shows students’ progress in science and social studies.
  6. Professional Education Portfolio.  Continue to develop the Professional Education Portfolio using artifacts gathered from your teaching with accompanying reflective statements that describe your developing mastery of the Teaching Performance Expectations.
