Welcome to my web site. 

I have been teaching at San Fernando Middle School for 9 years, where I currently teach math and science. I am very excited to be working with students, parents, and colleagues this year.

My teaching philosophy...

As a teacher, my first priority is the students I teach. I believe that every student can learn. I believe that working together in collaboration with all parties involved in the education of the children in my classroom will allow me to facilitate a successful educational experience for my students. In order to provide the best chance for student success, I will communicate with school staff, administration, parents, child advocates, and the community. I strive to use a variety of research based teaching and classroom management techniques to address all learning modalities present in my classroom. I will make appropriate adaptations to maximize individualized learning. My goal is to continue to innovate myself, to learn, to adapt, and to improve my teaching skills. I am committed to remain up to date on the most recent knowledge in the subjects I teach. I will be open minded to changes in the education field, and most important, I will be the best teacher I can be!

My mission...

It is my mission as a teacher to promote learning in a stimulating environment where students feel safe. It is also my mission to create a setting where personal differences are accepted, to incorporate into my lessons the technology that is changing our world, to promote a policy of mutual respect, to have a learner-centered classroom, to build the foundations necessary for a successful educational future, to make a connection between real life situations and the subject matter being presented, and to allow a positive exchange of ideas.

This website has been designed to guide you through my 6th grade math and science courses. It defines clear expectations for students. I included resources and additional sites of interest for students and parents.
