$Text Box: · Now you can download and install the NEW 2009 Version 1.4 of the High Frequency Sight Words TEACHER. This update has improved graphics and instructions that have been modified so that both teachers and students' parents can use it. The High Frequency Sight Words Teacher gives children practice reading 300 critical sight words with speed and automaticity. Research shows that this skill is an important foundation for fluent reading and increased comprehension. The words taught are those assessed by teachers in grades K - 2 in the Pleasant Valley School District, Camarillo, CA and they are specifically aligned with the PVSD's Houghton Mifflin 2002 reading and language arts adoption. · As always, this product is NOT copyrighted and may be used and distributed freely. · Installing the program is simple and takes only a few minutes. It is NOT necessary of delete earlier versions. Older versions will be replaced automatically. Downloading and Installing: · Click the green link at the left to download a file entitled “The Sight Words Teacher.zip” onto your desktop (if your computer asks you where to put the download, be sure to specify “desktop”). · Click the zip file and extract the folder entitled “The Sight Words Teacher” onto the desktop (if asked be sure to specify the desktop as the location to extract the file to). · Open “The Sight Words Teacher” folder. · Drag the “The High Frequency Sight Words Teacher” shortcut onto the desktop (be sure you're dragging out the shortcut, NOT the teacher itself). · Close the folder. · Open “My Computer.” · Drag the “The Sight Words Teacher” folder into the c:\ drive. You’re done. Clicking the “The High Frequency Sight Words Teacher” icon on your desktop will activate the program.
