Interview with a Web Designer: Jeremy Jones
Funny Animals on the Web!
When I interviewed a web designer to get his idea of what "Creativity" is this is what he had to say...
1.) When I asked, how he would define creativity? He stated:
-Creativity is re-assembling the
prodcuts/influences of your environment/surroundings into a personally
unique order
using your mind. I think that
something is creative when its gets noticed for its uniqueness.
2.) When
I asked, how or why were you drawn to this career instead of a job that
might offer more stability or security? He
Stated:
-I don't feel I have much of a choice. I've
always been very driven and inspired by the freedom of creativity.
3.) At what age or time in your life did you realize that you were creative?
-Probably when I stated playing
with Legos and making super 8 movies during my elementay school years.
4.) Who is the most creative person that you have ever known?
-That is a tough one. I did not
personally grow up in a family of artists or musicians. I would have to
say that the most
creative are theartist friends that have based much
of thier source of livelihood and existence on creating art. I'm
also in awe of
some of the Lowbrow art being featured in magazines like Juxtapoz.
5.) How did you choose your creative outlet? What inspires you?
-My creative outlet is
mutli-faceted but I would have to say that in the arena of visual arts
I chose graphic design so that I
could be
creative and have a career. My surroundings and experiences seen to be
the greatest source of
inspiration.
6.) What kind of things do you do to get your "creative juices" flowing?
-Listen to music, thumb through
art magazines/books, go for a run or bike ride to clear my head.
7.) What
obstacles, if any, have you had to deal with in your life or career?
What are the biggest challenges you have had
in the realm of your art?
-The biggest obstacle in my
career is the saturation of graphic designers in the market place. Have
to educate potential
clients on the
benefits of good design and that it doesnt come free. The biggest
challenges I have had are making
a living while
doing what I enjoy.
8.) Do you create your works for yourself of to share with others?
-Most of my work is for clients
but I also have other creative outlets and interests that are very
personal.
9.) What is the ulitmate message in your creative expressions?
-The messages vary depending on
whether the form of creative expression is through my commercial art or
the personal
side. The ultimate message for
the commercial art (graphic design) is often dictacted by the client or
the clients
goals.
10.) What advise could you give me?
-Follow your passions. It is not
an easy road but in the end it seems more fulfilling than shuffling
papers to no end.
Interview with a Creative "Web Person": Jonathan "Woody" Woodbeck
Hollywoodyonline.com
Using the same questions as above, I interviewed a person I found on the web that I thought created an interesting web page. This is what he had to say...
1.) I think Creativity is something that deals with
experssion of ones own personal ideas, emotions, feelings and thoughts.
Its about creating something unique.
2.) I've always been intereseted in the
Entertainment world and with celebrities being so incrediably popular
and accessable here in LA I find that my decision for creating this web
page came easy.
3.) Like I
said, I've always loved the entertainment world and I've always been
involved with it. Whether it be with acting, writing, performing, or
just watching alot of TV and Movies..haha.
4.) I'm not really sure who would be the most
creative person I've ever known. Its funny because Perez Hilton does a
lot of Blogging and I look at his stuff as really interesting. In my
field creative people are everywhere expressing all of thier god given
talents. I've always thought the people behind all the celebrities,
shows, and movies were really creative. Those are the people putting
everything together, they have most of the ideas.
5.) I think the entertainment world chose me, haha.
I love Los Angeles and being in the thick of this big city. Theres so
much to do and see and I cant imagine living anywhere else. I get
inspiration everyday from everything I see on TV, on the big screen,
even walking down the streets.
6.) My creative juices are always flowing, haha. I'm constantly
connected with the entertainment buisness and I live in a great area
for that.
7.) I've had a lot
of obstacles to overcome, coming from a poor family life to moving
across the entire nation, dealing with all the judgements in this
buisness to loosing over 200lbs, trying to make money to support
yourself all the while promoting yourself as someone with not a care in
the world.
8.) I create my
page for others to view, but honestly its something I love to do so its
selfish of me in away, haha. Its good therapy to do something you love.
9.) That celebrities are people too! Haha...just
messing...they choose that life and have to realize that with all the
glitz, glamor, money, million dollar houses and cars, trips around the
world, and being a house hold name comes a lack of privacy from people
who have interest in thier lives. I think a good message would be to
just be yourself, live life, enjoy as much as you can and create as
many crazy memories as possible.
10.) Good advice is hard to find, but luckily I'm
good at it..haha. I think you should do what I just stated...Live your
life with as many good times as possible, love and dont judge because
judgeing leads to hate. Dont be affraid to educate yourself and try
something knew because if you never expand your mind your heart will
never grow.
