They have free monthly meetings on a wide range of topics. If you would like to see a great documentary on pop recording history go see Tom Dowd & The Language Of Music. It's an amazing overview of engineering from the 50's 'till now. The British engineering magazine Sound On Sound is a great resource. Here are two articles on Stereo Microphone Techniques part 1 and part 2. ...and a series of articles on Surround Sound. A great article on EQ; Spectral Management. A web site with information on just about any microphone you can think of. An interesting introduction to the science of acoustics can be heard on the BBC. If you have half an hour and some headphones check out Acoustic Shadows A useful reference for audio terms of all sorts can be found at the Rane Pro Audio Reference Last modified: 8-23-07 |
