Cal State Northridge students, in general, are
hard-working, tenacious and dedicated. But each year, there are some who
overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles to reach their goal of achieving
a university degree.
“This truly is the epitome of the modern university in an urban setting.
People with different backgrounds, different socioeconomic levels, religions,
places of birth--different everything--come together and it all seems to
culminate at graduation,” said Fred Strache, CSUN interim vice president
for student affairs at CSUN.
