Are Men Really from Mars and Women from Venus?
Resources used to support "no."
Self-help book author John Gray has been criticized because his
theory is based solely on his intuitions and feedback from his
seminar audiences rather than being based on real research.
Indeed, many people think his recommendations are loaded with
patronizing sexist biases that degrade women. Differences between
the communication styles of men and women are due to the fact that
we are socialized differently. But emphasizing these differences
can only lead to perpetuating these sex role stereotypes.
