Course Description:

The general chemistry course is in alignment with the California State Standards for chemistry and gives the students introductory knowledge in the areas of structures of atoms, structure and properties of matter, chemical reactions, motions and forces, conservation of energy and the increase of disorder, and interactions of energy and matter.  The student will participate in laboratory exercises designed to reinforce concepts learned in class as well as expose students to a cooperative learning experience necessary for success in college level courses.
