Member Resources
Current members are encouraged to volunteer their time this semester during the many events held by Psi Chi. If members serve a certain number of hours, they will be eligible for discounted regalia!
Graduating seniors may also pick up an honor's seal from the Psi Chi office to affix to their diploma. Please bring a current DARS.
Psi Chi will have its official initiation ceremony to induct new members and award regalia and certificates. The event is held once a year in the spring semester. Check the Events page for details.
If you wish to know your member points, you may now request it through email.
Awards are available for Psi Chi. To apply for any of these awards, please pick up an application from the Psi Chi office in SH 306C.
- Outstanding Member Award: Given to the most outstanding member of Psi Chi.
- Oustanding Officer Award: Given to executive board officer(s) who demonstrate outstanding effort.
- Clinical Service Award: Given to any Psi Chi member who demonstrate outstanding dedication to clinical work.
- Quantitative Research Award: Given to the research team member who shows outstanding work on the team.
- Research Methods and Statistical Analysis Award: Given to the research team member who demonstrates exceptional work on the team.

- Nothin' But Sand
Heal the Bay 3rd Saturday of every month (except December) Upcoming: February 19, 2011 Location: Playa Del Rey, Ca 10:00am-12:00pm
Every 3rd Saturday of the month, Heal the Bay sends a team of motivated indidcuals to various SoCal beaches to clean up. Help keep our oceans clean and possibly save a couple animals lives. No prior registration is required.

- L.A. Regional Food Bank
Food Sorting at L.A. Regional Food Bank Saturday, November 6th, 2010 Location: Los Angeles, Ca 90058 9:00am-12:00pm
Every Saturday of the month, L.A. Regional FoodBank gathers volunteers to help sort, shelve and stack food donations for distribution to agencies serving the hungry throughout Los Angeles. L.A. Regional FoodBank provides food support to numerous community agencies serving Los Angeles, ranging from large homeless shelters that feed hundreds of people a day to small daycare programs. It is the second largest foodbank operating in the United States.
Special Note: Please wear casual attire (jeans, t-shirt, tennis shoes). L.A. Regional FoodBank policy prohibits the following: tank tops, sleeveless shirts, sandals, open-toe or high-heel shoes.

- Aviva Family & Children's Services
Teen Outreach at Aviva Saturday, November 13th, 2010 Location: Los Angeles, Ca 90046 1:00pm-3:00pm
Twice monthly, L.A. Works volunteers visit Aviva and engage
their teens in creative and positive activities. Whether working together on an arts & crafts project, participating in a dance contest, playing Pictionary or charades or just having a good conversation, our goal is to brighten the teens' spirits by encouraging.
Aviva Family and Children's Services provides a comprehensive range of diverse and culturally sensitive therapeutic and educational programs to help at-risk, emotionally distressed, abused, and neglected youth as well as their families.

- weSPARK Cancer Support Center
Second Annual 5K Walk/Run & 10K Run Sunday, November 14th, 2010 Location: Woodley Park in Encino 6:00am-12:00pm
Join weSPARK as we celebrate our 2nd Annual 10K Run & 5K Run/Walk. Bring your friends and family! There is a race for everyone! This event will be chip timed and every participant will receive an event tee shirt. EVENT WILL RUN, RAIN OR SHINE! All funds raised will benefit weSPARK Cancer Support Center.
weSpark is a special place dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for cancer patients, their families and friends. weSPARK provides, free of charge, a center where one can join with others to share their experience, strength, and hope. weSpark offers multiple services designed to heal the mind, body and spirit of all those whose lives have been affected by cancer.

- Let's Read at Pueblo del Rio

Let's Read is a multi-week program designed to provide teh youth of Pueblo del Rio with the tools to help them achieve their dreams. Working individually and in groups, volunteers work with youth to strenghten their reading and comprehension skills.

- 17th Annual Thanksgiving Homeless Feeding & Banner Creation
One Incredible Family, Inc. Saturday, November 27th, 2010 Location: Playa Del Rey, Ca 90293 6:30am-8:30pm Will a 3-hour minimum commitment
One Incredible Fmaily, Inc. is a charitable service organization that produces & facilitates community service projects. This event benefits our homeless "family memebrs" throughout the County of Los Angeles.
Volunteers will prepare 1,600 meals, create 18 srtistic and uplifting banners, assemble and package meals, deliver and serve meals at shelters, and clean up the facility.
