Public higher education in California and throughout the nation faces serious challenges due to an unprecedented fiscal crisis. While Cal State Northridge has not been unaffected by this crisis, you can rest assured that, thanks to our distinguished faculty and dedicated staff, we remain focused on our mission of promoting the welfare and intellectual progress of our students while enabling them to realize their educational goals. Indeed, in such a challenging environment, the importance of distinguished regional academic institutions like Cal State Northridge becomes more essential because, through its programs and activities, the University provides needed services to the community and, through its preparation of students, helps develop the intellectual capital and professional work skills needed to boost and drive the economy.

The University website is a gateway into the broad work of the University by providing information about the many academic programs available to students and our efforts in the community. If you are a prospective student, you will find useful information about our many outstanding academic programs, and the available activities and opportunities that will enrich your academic experience here. (And you can apply online once you have decided to join our campus community.) Continuing students will find resources important to their coursework and their goal of graduation. Faculty and staff will find resources needed to accomplish their work effectively.
