Work on your presentation:

Presentation 1:
Pitch the project by telling a convincing story

Presentation must convince people that if they had funds they should invest in your idea.

  • WOW factor
  • Spell check, grammar check.
  • Be professional in your presentation
  • Look professional
  • Care about how your presentation looks.
    (This presentation can be a portfolio piece in itself.)
  • Convince the people viewing your presentation that this is a valuable product.

 

 

The following is directly taken from the assignment sheet. Please read this over carefully. Your grade is based on the following as well as the design.

Design Audit:
Through an evaluation of your brand and a competitor analysis (also known as design or brand audit) you will gather secondary research. Narrow down competitors brand image and products to at least 3 competitors. Some of these can be admirable companies and some can be direct competition. If you are taking an existing brand and proposing a new product, you will need to have a SWOT analysis for the brand to see the Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats

Brand profile
Through the use of research tactics (listed on page 21 of the text book) you will need to define your brand profile. Tactics such
as photo ethnography, visual anthropology, focus groups or survey/questionnaires are ways to gather research for your
brand image. For your product the demographic needs to be specific. Currently the criteria must be college students, but this needs to be narrow down. Create a series of archetypes. Strategic

Proposal:
You will propose a time line and strategy for creating this product/service. Strategy will include how the product or service will be distributed as well as the design direction of the item

Design Suggestions
A new product logo and identity will need to be developed. The over all mood, style, and design will be proposed. Included in this section you will need design all aspects of the productÕs collateral material. So providing a suggestion on how the website might work if the product is a website. If the product is an App, How will the appÕs interface look and how will it function? If an industrial designer will need to be employed, how will the product look and function? Will there be a product logo placed on the item? This section will involve designing and mocking up suggestions on elements of design.
