Student Philosophy Society
Tim Black, Faculty Co-sponsor
Hello, and welcome to Fall Semester 2004 at Cal State Northridge.  We hope you all had a safe and enjoyable summer!  We’d like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about The Student Philosophy Society (check out our constitution.)

The Society works diligently to organize both social gatherings and events that are meant to cultivate your interest in philosophy.  We plan to have an exciting schedule of events this Fall, which will include events in two series -- The Student and Philosopher Forum Series and The Philosophy and Diversity Symposium Series.

  • The Student and Philosopher Forum Series was created with the intent to give students time alone, in a casual and relaxed environment, with visiting scholars.  With this series, we hope to offer students the opportunity to listen to and speak with a philosopher in an intimate setting, giving them the chance to ask questions and offer criticisms of their own.
  • The Philosophy and Diversity Symposium Series will offer students and faculty an opportunity to hear visiting scholars -- as well as members of CSUN’s own faculty -- speak on various philosophical issues, while incorporating a diverse range of other issues.

Below, you'll find SPS announcements, as well as information about upcoming events, recent events, conferences, and contacting the Society. You can also find information about the Society posted on the wall in a glass case across from the Philosophy Department Conference Room, Sierra Tower, Room 503.
