Wednesday 30 September 2009: "Celebrating 2009: The International Year of Astronomy" This event is brought to you by SPS and the Physics and Astronomy Club.

4:00pm - Sun Party at the Campus Observatory in the Orange Grove. Come see view the sun in various methods and learn how to properly view the sun with a telescope when you do not have a solar filter. Talk with Solar Astronomers and learn about CSUN's San Fernando Solar Observatory.**

6:30pm - The Bianchi Planetarium presents Dr. Damian Christian: "The Search for Exo-planets." Do you think we are alone in the Universe? The search for planets orbiting stars besides our own has been fast growing with new "exo-planets" being discovered at an ever increasing rate. How do we find something so small yet so far away and how will we know if it can sustain life?

7:30pm - The Bianchi Planetarium presents Dr. Jan Dobias: Autumn Sky Show: Come see and learn about stars and constellations and planets visible in the sky during the Autumn of this year. Be able to walk outside of the planetarium, look up and know seeing on the way to the Star Party.

8:30pm - Star Party at the Campus Observatory in the Orange Grove. Come view the wonders of the Autumn sky through the lenses of amateur astronomers. View objects such as Jupiter, the Moon, galaxies, and various classes of stars. Talk with Amateur Astronomers about the the wonders and mythology of the skies.**

**All telescope viewings are dependent on the weather and sky conditions.
