Formulas/facts you have to know for the test

• Different notations for the derivative (4.1)
• All the formulas in blue boxes in 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, particularly the Chain Rule (alternative form) on p. 226
• The formula for the derivative of e^mx (the particular case of the blue box for e^g(x) with g(x)=mx)
• The blue box on p. 224 and the derivative for ln |x| from the blue box on p. 245.
• Definitions of trigonometric functions, the two special limits from p. 251, graphs from p. 127
• Equation for the tangent line (blue box on p. 183)

For more review problems see Detailed Schedule, Problems 4.R. These will not be collected, but you should consider them part of the homework on Chapter 4. It is also a good idea to review the problems from the last two homework assignments before the test, and you could also be curious about other problems (particularly, odd) from these sections (solve as many as time permits). If you have questions please bring them to the review session on Monday, Oct. 22 (in class).
