Dr.
Nancy Kurland earned a Ph.D. in Management and Corporate Social
Responsibility from the University of Pittsburgh in
1993, MBAs from Cornell University and the Katholieke Universiteit
Leuven in 1985 and 1986, and a BA in Political Science from Penn State
in 1983. Prior to joining CSUN, she was on the management
faculties
of the University of Southern California (1993 - 2001) and Pepperdine
University (2001 - 2002). And for six years subsequent, she wrote
creatively full-time. She has published over twenty refereed journal
articles and
book chapters. Her research has focused on ethics and incentives, and
the
social impact of technology, particularly telecommuting. Currently, she
is
exploring water management in California, organizational
storytelling, and the managerial implications and cultural
transformation of 'going green.' She teaches courses in organizational
behavior, business & society, critical thinking, and strategic
issues in sustainability.
