ANALYZING DATA SETS: GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM (GPS),

PLATE TECTONICS AND EARTHQUAKES

NASA-PAIR Seminar Series - Spring 2002 Schedule

Tuesdays 3:30 5pm Science 1231

This lecture series will explore the interdisciplinary nature of analyzing data sets in math and science, presented by experts in academia and the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena.  The general topics include: plate tectonics, faulting and earthquakes, engineering analysis of stress - strain on materials, Global Positioning System (GPS) concepts (coordinate system, reference systems, lat. & long.) and applications to earthquakes, and Interferometric Synthetic Radar (InSAR).
