NEWS ALERT: M.I.S. Program Seeks High Quality Individuals

The M.I.S. program is seeking bright, personable, organized, self-starters with strong core values who have an intense desire to blend their love of music with their interest in the music and entertainment business world. If you meet the criteria read on to learn how to apply for admission.

There are three components that all applicants must pass in order to be accepted into the M.I.S. major:

1. The Audition
Applicants for admission into the M.I.S. major must pass a performance audition on a musical instrument. Students must demonstrate competency and their ability to read music notation -- not just chord symbols. Most students who have seriously studied an instrument with a qualified music teacher for a period of time will have little difficulty passing the audition. For more information about the M.I.S. audition see Audition Requirements on the website or call the music office at 818-677-3181. (Note: The audition requirement is never waived.)

2. The Interview
Applicants must also participate in an interview with the head of the program. The interview allows the interviewer to become familiar with applicants' capabilities, talents, achievements and future plans.

3. The Essay
Approximately four days prior to the scheduled audition/interview, applicants will be e-mailed a designated topic on which to write an essay. The essay is to be submitted at the time of the Interview.
