»Wayne Bergeron

Wayne Bergeron began his professional trumpet career at the age of 19. Some early tours included stints as a lead player with Helen Reddy, Buddy Miles and Bobby Womack.

In 1986 Wayne joined the Maynard Ferguson Band. He can be heard on such MF recordings as "Body and Soul", "Big Bop Nouveau" and "Brass Attitude." Remarking on the talented trumpet player, Maynard Ferguson had this to say during a radio interview: "Wayne is the most musical lead player I've ever had on my band." Upon leaving Maynard's band Wayne toured with singer/songwriter Paul Anka for 31/2 years.

Giving up life on the road came easy as Wayne's career turned to recording. Wayne currently plays with many of LA's finest big bands. He has recorded with Bob Florence, Jack Sheldon, Pat Williams, Gordon Goodwin, Sammy Nestico, Bill Watrous, Ralph Carmichael, Frank Capp, Matt Cattingub, Bill Liston, Tom Kubis, Kim Richmond, Med Flory, Ray Anthony, Roger Neumann, Bill Perkins, Bill Elliott and Bob Curnow.

Wayne is currently on staff at California State University, Northridge where he manages to find time to teach privately.

Performances with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic and Pacific Symphony show Wayne's versatility as a musician.
