Attendance:
Attendance is mandatory for all rehearsals and performances. Medical excuses must be accompanied with a legitimate note from a doctor. All substitutes will be your responsibility. Any failure to get an adequate substitute or to forget your music will result in an automatic "F" grade for the semester.
You must be punctual at all rehearsals. Have your instrument(s) out, warmed up and bring a music stand so that rehearsal starts on time! Your grade will be lowered 1/3 for every time you are late to a rehearsal.....Don't be late!!!!
Saxophone players are responsible for all doubles, every rehearsal! Failure to comply for every rehearsal will result in a lowered letter grade for the semester.
Brass players are responsible for all mutes and flugelhorns . . . every rehearsal! Failure to have all mutes at any rehearsal will result in a lowered letter grade for the semester.
Bass and guitar players must bring tuner. Failure to comply for every rehearsal will result in a lowered letter grade for the semester.
Sound checks and performances:
Failure to be punctual at sound checks and performances will result in a lowered letter grade for the semester for each infraction. This simply means to be on time, warmed up and ready to play at a designated time.
Sectionals:
A minimum of 10 sectionals must be completed every semester. Each section should meet a minimum of one hour for each sectional. Failure to comply with sectional attendance will result in a lowered grade (1/3 of letter grade) for each missed sectional rehearsal. Section leaders will be responsible to document the attendance for all sectionals.
Lost Parts:
Any lost parts will be up to the individual to replace. (Either hand copied or purchased from the publisher)
Quizzes:
The director has the authority to listen to individuals or sections perform specific parts from the music at any time during the semester and to grade accordingly.
Grade Components:
Attendance - 40%
Preparation - 35%
Sectionals - 25% |
