Webpage Designer– Grace Bennett
People regard you as a creative person. Do you agree? Please explain your answer.
I would agree that I am a creative person. Ever since I was little I was always trying to create something.
I went the extra mile for school projects because I enjoyed the creative process so much. I am not only a web
designer but, also a graphic designer in the digital scrapbooking industry. I create kits starting with either
a color or theme in mind and as I work with Photoshop I see this vision that I had turn into what I consider to
be mini works of art. Being creative has always been an outlet for me. Whenever I am feeling less than happy,
I always do something creative. Whether it be writing poetry, creating graphics, or coding a website, creating
things has always been therapeutic for me.
Have you ever doubted your talent? If so, how did you work through your doubt?
I have doubted my talent at times. Sometimes creating websites can be challenging and
frustrating and it is during those times that I have doubted myself. Whenever something
I am trying to create becomes frustrating for me, I take a step back. Looking at things
with a fresh pair of eyes always helps bring back the flow of creative energy. When I
am working on a scrapbook kit especially, I am on my own deadlines, so sometimes I will
leave a kit alone for a month or longer. There are times when I open it again and decide
that it just isn't working, and others in which starting the process again with something
that I was previously frustrated with turns out to be one of my favorite collections. When
that happens I no longer doubt my talent or creativity.
If you and I were to trade places, tell me one thing about yourself that I should know.
If you an I were to trade places, I would tell you to bring your hat collection, because
I wear many. I am a newly single mother of a three year old as well as a full time student.
I also have my own graphic design and web design business in which I am the only employee.
My life can get very hectic, very quickly.
If you could choose a theme song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
The theme song for my life would be Just Fine from Mary J. Blige. It is a song that
makes me feel energized and grateful to be living my dream everyday
