Assignment: Respond to the following in a narrative, detailed, descriptive, and analytical essay.

It appears that our society functions in part because of secrets and the truth behind them.

• Which aspects of your life do you consider public, and which do you consider private?
• Should certain people, such as celebrities and politicians, be expected to give up their right to privacy in exchange for fame, money, and power?
• How would you react if the private details of your life became public matters of interest?

Goals: This is an informal writing assignment. Feel free to experiment with this paper. Use it as a place to try out ideas and experiment with different classifications/types of secrets experienced and/or observed along your own reaction to them

I do, however, expect writing that displays intelligence and thought. I also expect that you will have revised your essay to the extent that your ideas are articulate, with a minimum of grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors.
