Interviews

Interview with Keri S

1.              People regard you as a creative person. Do you agree?  Please                  explain your answer.

Yeah, I guess you could say that I’m creative.  I don’t know that my creativity really shines through all too much in my websites, but I also do photography  … I think that’s where I can really show my creativity

2.              If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? Please                  explain your choice.

I love the feeling of small towns.  There’s just something enchanting about them.  I would probably want to stay in the States, but perhaps somewhere in Idaho or Oregon … somewhere naturally beautiful.

3.              How do want people to remember you?

I’d be pleased if people remembered me at all.  I guess it would be good if people remember me as being kind and selfless.  I think that one of the greatest measures of a person is the impact they have on their friends and family … I hope that a little piece of me would live on through them and be remembered that way.

Creative Genius Interview

With Robert Wynia, bassist and lead vocalist from Floater

The interview was given in person, while sitting at a bar in Hollywood, just before one of their shows.  The responses listed below were based on the audio recording of the interview, though some of them were recalled from memory due a malfunction of the recording device.

1. People regard you as a creative person. Do you agree? Please explain your answer.

Some people would … other people definitely don’t agree. I would say that I am a rather creative person – aside from the band, I write fiction, I make short films, I do a lot of creative things.

2.    Looking at what you have created in the past, would you change anything today?                  Why or why not?

I don’t think so. That’s the beauty of it all – the imperfections in the songs are part of the art, part of the creation. We make changes all the time though – our songs are almost never the same twice when we perform them live.

3.      Have you ever doubted your talent? If so, how did you work through your doubt?

Yeah, there have been some times where I have had doubts. It’s those times that you really have to look for support and encouragement from your friends and family.

4.      If you could choose a theme song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Wow – just one song, for my whole life … I don’t think that’s possible.

What about the last year?

I … I just don’t think I could do it. There is way too much emotion and feeling and thought that goes into every moment, there’s no way I could think of one song to sum up an entire year.

5.        If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? Please explain your                  choice.

Where I live – Portland. It’s wonderful – the culture, the people … if there were some place I’d rather live … I’d probably be there by now.

6.        If you could change one aspect of our society through your work, what would it                  be?

Fear. I would love to see people shed their fear, to see them sing and dance and be ridiculous without fear of being judged. I’d love to see peoples prejudice and personal fears erased, to embrace each other, and to embrace ourselves without fear.

7.          How do want people to remember you?

I want people to remember me as genuine, as being what I say that I am. I want to know that I made a positive effect on my friends and family and those around me.
