Books on a shelf

Just carry one around — trust me, it'll make you look at least 20% smarter

One of the best books I’ve read … ever.  The story is about a young boy, Ender Wiggin, and his efforts to save the world from the Bugger invasion.  Trust me … you REALLY want to read this book — it’s so much more than just a typical Science Fiction book.  Orson Scott Card is one of the most intellectual and exciting authors I’ve read from in a long time.  Well worth your time.

The first book was turned into one of the most terrible movies ever made … but I implore you not to let that tarnish your opinion of the trilogy.  At least as exciting as the Harry Potter series, and a little bit more “grown-up.”

You can’t deny it … Dr. Seuss is the Man — not since Shakespeare has someone been cool enough to make up that many words and have people exalt them for it.  Not just the Lorax though, but rather any children’s books.  Yeah, novels are wonderful, and carrying around a 25 pound book makes you look really smart, but children’s stories are often just as good, and many of them provide life-lessons at least as profound as those found in some of the lengthiest of novels.

Unlike the Eragon movie, the film trilogy based on these books was great.  Though … still not as good as the books.  Even if you’ve seen the movies already — I highly recommend that you read the books

If you try to tell me you’ve never read a Harry Potter book or at least seen one of the movies … you’re either a liar, or you’ve been living under a rock for the last eight years.
