Brutus

My dad and I rescued Brutus from a Great Dane Rescue in Norco, CA.  We chose this loveable beautiful blonde from a panel of very promising other hopefuls.  Truth be told, Brutus wasn't an instant member of the family.  It took a very long time for my mom to adjust to having such a large dog in the house.  It was her fear that he would eat Noel, our smaller dog, whom we had for about 10 years before Brutus.  Brutus was given back to the Rescue by his previous owners for being too overprotective, if poor old Brutus was ever guilty of anything its for being a big lover and a baby and a coward and a marathon eater.

Brutus's Favorite Things:

1.Being tucked in at night

2. Barking at the mailman.

3. Leaning on standing people, and knocking them over

4. Resting his head on the kitchen sink

5. Catching rats in his younger years

Keeper of the Gate

 Fearless watchdog and buddy

Noel

Noel was brought to us on Christmas day.  She was a gift to me and my sister.  Noel was the most gentle dog in the whole world.  She loved to play house and Vet's office, and dress up.  And when Brutus arrived on the scene some 10 years later she busied herself with being the boss of the house.  We had Noel for 15 years, and a darn good dog she was.

Noel's Favorite Things:

1. Playing house, dress up and Vet's office

2. Eating fallen avocadoes from the neighbors tree.

3. Making Brutus wait to eat his dinner till she was done with hers.

4. Burying Brutus's Christmas bone and keeping her own to herself.

5.  Playing in the yard with Brutus, chasing him mostly.

The Uncontrollable Addict

If it weren't for the absurdity of this rabbit, I don't think I would have shared her with everyone, well maybe I would have... Blondie came to me when I was about 4 years old. She was a gray French lop bunny with big floppy ears and a little fluffy tail and was very loveable and house trained. Blondie also had a strange liking for beer and Oreo cookies.  It all started one day with a little spilled beer, Blondie hopped over and lapped it up Soon, begging like a dog,  it turned into a little beer in a tea saucer with an Oreo cookie chaser.  Despite her obesity and weekly (maybe daily) addiction to alcohol and fatting foods, Blondie lived a very long life, occasionally staggering into a corner to sleep it off for an hour or so.
