This is my interview with creative genius Christopher Appel:

  1. When was the first time that you remember realizing that you are a creative person?... Looking back now, i think is when I was just a boy. I remember drawing what was in my mind. it was mostly superheroes and stuff like that.
  2. When did you know that this was what you wanted to do with your life? How did you get started?....I knew this is what I wanted to do when realizing that I was very good with the few sketches I had drawn. I was also a big fan of computers so I was able to mix my love of drawing with that of computers. At first I began as a freelance illustrator and I just kept at it and my work became better know and soon i was helping with the artwork for games and magazines.
  3. Have other people supported or inspired you? Please explain. ....My wife has always supported me. She is the first person I need to thank. I was lucky enough to have parents who persuaded me to follow my dreams and to enjoy whatever is it I chose to do. As for inspiration, I always wanted to be like Stan Lee, he is just amazing.
  4. How have you dealt with any criticism you have gotten because of your creative endeavors?.....The first thing I do is always try to improve. Even if at times I have felt offended I always look at how the criticism can further help me improve my work. There is no point in taking criticism and letting it affect your work in a negative manner. Like I said, always look at the bright side of things.
  5. Do you do anything special to get your "creative juices" flowing? Please explain. ...Whenever i feel stuck, the first thing I do is to look at any of my earlier work and it just clears my mind. I remember what I was thinking when i created a certain piece. This usually helps me out a lot. it makes me feel better just by realizing how far I have come. Some of the pieces are years old and they all bring back memories and this is what inspires me to continue marching forward.
  6. What are your words of wisdom for someone starting out in your field?....The most important thing I can say is to never give up on your dreams. keep trying, there are gonna be times where doors might not be open to you and when that happens, you just have to keep on trying. If you are persistent, someone will lend you a hand. It took me a very long time to get started and if I were to have given up, I would not be where I am. but this does not just apply to my field, but to life in general. So this goes out to everybody regardless of their dreams.

......I knew this is what I wanted to do after struggling so much to create my first website years ago. i have always been a fan of technology and the internet was cutting edge when it first started.

 3. What traits, if any, do you think that creative people have as compared to people who are not

......I believe that everyone is creative in their own way, it's just some people are better at taping into their creativity and showing it to the world.

4. Have other people supported or inspired you? Please explain.

......The main message is that I am here to help. Don't be shy about asking questions.

.....I would like to be a cloud, just because you can travel and they seem so peaceful!!!

8. What are your words of wisdom for someone starting out in your field?
......The advise I can give is to always help others if you are in the position to do so. You never know when you might need the help, so its good to know that chances are there is always gonna be somebody there to lend you a hand.
