Student Learning Objectives
During this two semester unit course, students will:
- In consultation with faculty, identify a contemporary health care problem or issue based on literature and data.
- Document the need for specific nursing intervention (i.e., clinical, research, management, or education) to resolve the identified problem or issue.
- Analyze specific strategies for intervention based on a needs assessment and a thorough review of the literature.
- Design a specific plan based on needs assessment, literature review, and appropriate nursing systems.
- Begin synthesizing information gained through required courses, including use of Orem's framework.
- Begin critically evaluating the project design and outcomes using Orem's model.
- Implement the project design.
- Critically evaluate the project design and outcomes.
- Create a final report of the project, including critique of design and outcomes.
