M. Robinson Cecil

Assistant Professor of Geological Sciences, CSU-Northridge

I recently started (Fall 2011) a position as an assistant professor in the  Department of Geological Sciences at California State University Northridge. To see how I got here or to learn a little more about me, please see my CV or visit my research and photo pages.

My research focuses on problems in regional tectonics, using geo- and thermo-chronometry, isotope geology, and field observation. Specifically, I am interested in the magmatic and topographic evolution of continental arcs, and in the interplay between lithospheric-scale tectonic processes operating at depth and their associated surface responses.  Please see my research page for details of projects I’ve worked on and feel free to contact me with any questions you might have!
