My Schooling

I graduated from Frost Jr. High School way back in the early 70's I graduated from Granada Hills High School in 1977. The best thing about High School was owning a fast car that played loud music and going to Friday night football games and then hanging out after the game with my friends. I went to College of the Canyons, a Jr. College in Valencia first. It was a smart move for me. It was easier than a University and it wasn't that expensive. I received an AA degree in 1989. I transfered to California State University Northridge (C.S.U.N.) and finally earned a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies in 1999. I chose to enter the Los Angeles Unified School District's own intern program and received my Teaching Credential 2 years later.

Academic Goals

I want to finish two more years at California State University Northridge and get a Master's degree in Educational Technology. Why do I want to do that? Well, I will make more money. I will also be more valuable, which means that I will have more and better choices for the future. I also hope to be a help to other teachers in how to use technology in their classrooms. Maybe I will even be able to write fun game-type programs for learning. That would be cool. But, the best goal is that I hope that this will make me a better teacher for my students.

Mr. Mark Mascolo

IntroductionM.A.Mascolo

I am a 40 something year old teacher. I want to be helping young people make it through this time in their lives. I try to teach using technology and still think that reading and writing are important skills. I like to have fun, but I like to have a focused and distraction-free classroom. I am married with two children and live in Camarillo Ca. The sunset picture above was taken by my wife, Janet, at a beach about fifteen minutes from our home

Why am I a teacher?

I am a teacher because I wanted to find a profession that loves people. Honestly! I was born-again when I was about 20 and started college at age 24. I asked myself two questions: one, what did I feel gifted at? And two, what profession would be a demonstration of the love of God towards people? Yep! Teaching was the answer. Teaching helps people grow and mature. It helps them prepare for a future and equipts them for a more rewarding future. I really believe that by teaching I am "Loving my neighbor" and doing a good work that glorifies Jesus Christ.
