Beautiful Teotihuacan pyramids picture taken by me in my September 2004 trip to Mexico. I am on top of the pyramid to the moon, the second tallest. There is a road with pyramis on both sides. On the left, the pyramid of the Sun stands above the small pyramids. a line of firefire all over the placefire all over the placea line of firefire all over the placea line of firefire all over the placea line of firea line of firefire all over the place

There are few places in the world that have been considered worthy of being inhabited by Gods.  Teotihuacan   (100 B.C. - A.D. 750)  is one of them.   A thousand years of civilization, that can still be felt along its wide avenues projecting out towards the cardinal points of the universe, had to pass before this place could be elevated to the ranks of a mythical city.

I could go on talking about Teotihuacan's splendor and the Aztec Empire, but there is so much to say that I would have to write a book.  Thus, I invite you to take a look of the following links.  For some good pictures of Teotihuacan  linkhttp://www.inaoep.mx/~sole/turismo/Edo_Mexico/Teotihuacan.html. And for more information about Teotihuacan and the Aztec Empire http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teotihuacan.

By the way, all the fire is because it is believed that the city was burned in an attempt to be conquered. The city's splendor was buried with the fire and it was never able to flourish again.
