January 18, 2008

Happy New Year and welcome back to CSUN! The BAW LC is gearing up for an exciting new semester, with lots of projects and many new ideas to make your language learning experience even better.

The semester begins Tuesday, January 22 and the BAW LC will be open at 9:00 AM. As we did last fall, the BAW LC will host many language classes during the semester, particularly on Tuesdays, so be sure to call ahead if you want to make sure there are computers available.

Once again, welcome back! Here's to a healthy and productive semester for us all.

August 21, 2007

The Fall 2007 semester will be upon us as of Thursday, August 23 and the BAW LC will be open at 9:00 AM to accomodate all the new classes and students that will be pouring through our doors.

This semester the BAW LC will be the permanent classroom for several language classes, primarily Spanish courses, and as such will be closed to outside traffic during these class times. Please click on "Location & Hours" to view our new hours for the semester.

Also, you may have noticed the BAW LC website looks a little different. We are currently moving our old website into the new CSUN template, so please bear with us - missing pictures and all!

May 8, 2007

Here we are, back again at the end of the semester. The last day of classes is May 18, 2007, and this will also be the last day the BAW LC will be open. Please make sure to get all your lab hours finished before we close for the summer at 2:00 PM on that Friday. Once again, we are getting ready to put together our Fall 2007 schedule. Professors, please determine your reservation times early and send them in to llrc4mcl@csun.edu or call ext. 3452 so we can get your classes on the schedule! Have a fantastic summer!

The Spring semester begins on Monday, January 29, 2007 - which means the BAW LC is ready to re-open! We will be opening on Jan. 29 at 9:00 AM. Please click on "Location & Hours" to see our newly updated hours for Spring 2007. Additionally, the MCLL Schedule of Classes has been updated. Click "Online Resources" to see more. Professors - spots on our reservation schedule are filling up quickly. Get your reservations in as soon as possible. Please click "Contact Us" and give us an e-mail or call. Welcome back everyone!

December 13, 2006

The BAW LC will close for the winter break starting on Friday, December 15, 2006 at 2:00 PM. We will re-open in the Spring semester. Instructors: get your Spring 2007 lab reservations in early to guarantee yourself access to all of our wonderful resources. Time slots go quickly! Click "Contact Us" and e-mail or call us ASAP. We will be re-opening for the Fall 2006 Semester next Tuesday, September 5th at 8:00 AM. We've changed our hours this semester, so be sure to check them by clicking on "Location & Hours" in the menu. Also note that the lab's extension is now 3470. Extension 3452 is now the extension of the lab director, Patricia Miller. Have a happy Labor Day, and welcome back once again!

The BAW LC will be closing for the Summer on Friday, May 19th at 2:00 PM. Please contact the director, Pat Miller, at ext. 3452 for lab use requests during the Summer. We will re-open in the Fall semester. Have a safe and happy break!

The BAW LC will be closed on Friday, March 31 for Cesar Chavez Day. We will re-open at the normal time on Monday, April 3. Enjoy your weekend!

November 29, 2005

First things first: the BAW LC webpage has received a bit of a facelift. We've added new sections, cleaned up the layout and are working on getting our catalogues onto the website. Any feedback about the change would be extremely welcome. E-mail us at lc4mcll@csun.edu.

It's getting very close to the end of the semester, which means the BAW LC will be closing for the winter recess. We will be closing at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 9 and re-opening in the Spring semester. Have a fantastic break!

About Barbara Ann Ward

 

After studying in Mexico City, Barbara Ann Ward entered San Fernando Valley State college in her 30's. Following her graduation, she worked for sixteen years as a rehabilitation counselor, crediting her Spanish knowledge for helping her better serve many of her clients.

 

An accomplished aviator, Ms. Ward traveled the world in her retirement, beginning skydiving in 1993 and making her last jump at age 74.

 

At her passing, Ms. Ward permanently endowed the Barbara Ann Ward (Spanish '67) Scholarship in Spanish Studies to encourage others to follow in her path of adventure and service.
