CHAPTER TWO: LITERATURE REVIEW (CONT.)

Conclusion

The National Student Research Center (NSRC) sponsored by Mandeville Middle School in Mandeville, Louisiana is not a science fair competition but is worth mentioning here. It was a site on the World Wide Web for publishing student work. Submission of student research in science as well as all other disciplines was open to elementary and secondary students across the country. It was intended to give students a wider audience and it served as a model for student research of all kinds. NSRC can be viewed at http://youth.net/nsrc/nsrc and the archive of science research can be viewed at http://youth.net/nsrc/sci/sci.index.html. Although this was an excellent site for publishing research, including science fair projects, it was not a “science fair,” nor did it conduct research into the benefits of publishing student work on the World Wide Web.
