As with any experiment, many opportunities for error
existed on this one. The first noticeable mistake was in the questioning.
Two important questions, gender and age, were neglected to be put on. This
was a crucial mistake because males are naturally more violent than females
and violence can wax or wane with age. There also exists the likelihood
that a small amount of the students did not answer honestly or seriously.
When the results were entered into the computer spreadsheet some of the
answers could have put in the wrong column. But two people were used to
enter the information very carefully thus lowering the chance of error.
When testing a topic as broad as violent behavior a two page questionnaire
obviously cannot address every possible factor. The small number of students
tested also cannot represent an entire society.
