Movies are a very effective means of communication.
But just how much and what do they communicate to a young audience? Can
a violent movie turn an impressionable teenager violent? A violent human
being is a result of many different factors. This project tries to see just
how responsible violent movies are for violent actions.
In this research, a comprehensive questionnaire was made to be answered
by teenagers in high school. A total of 72 students were questioned. The
questions ranged from a teenager's perspective of movies to a his relationship
with his parents. The answers were compiled on a database program and analyzed.
It was found that there was a correlation between kids who tend to be more
violent and enjoy violent films. There was a stronger correlation however
between kids whose parents either hit or yell at their kids and kids who
tend to be more violent.
