About the BAW LC
The BAW LC is a dedicated language learning resource center utilized by students, staff and faculty for the purposes of language acquisition. We support all languages taught in the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures and offer audio, video, electronic and text resources for both instructors and students. The full catalogues are available for viewing at the front desk.
Inside the lab you will find 36 computer workstations. Each workstation is optimized for both solo and dual learning situations and is equipped with a DVD-ROM, internet access, headset and microphone connections, and a wide variety of installed language learning software.
In addition to the computer stations, the BAW LC is also home to six TV/VCR stations and six cassette tape listening stations.
For students who have scheduled tutoring sessions or need space to work on group presentations, the Satellite Room located in our lab facility is available for reserve.
As well as independent study for the student, the BAW LC offers reservations for instructors who wish to conduct class in a lab environment. The lab contains a faculty station, Smart Board, and projector system with connections to the computer, VCR, multi-standard DVD player and presentation stand.
The BAW LC also offers CD and cassette tape copying services for course materials located within the lab. Please be advised that our ability to copy specific titles is subject to publisher copyright agreements.
