The Fallen Firefighters' Memorial
Los Angeles Fire Department Historical Society

Sacrifice
Courage
Honor
Service

The Los Angeles Fire Department Historical Society is committed to honoring the memory of all firefighters who have made the ultimate sacrifice protecting the City of Los Angeles and its citizens. In the spirit of Sacrifice, Courage, Honor and Service, a memorial commemorating the actions of our heroes has been designed by Captain Dwayne Golden, member of the LAFD, and was constructed by Honors for Excellence, Ltd. Each of the bronze statues is made from over forty molds and twenty-two separate steps involving the ancient "lost wax" casting technique. Past commissions of Honors for Excellence, Ltd. include:

"The Fallen Firefighter Memorial Monument" - Columbia, South Carolina
"The Fallen Firefighter Memorial Monument" - Fire Rescue, Miami-Dade, Florida

This is a depiction by LAFD firefighters of the Fallen Firefighters' Memorial statues that were constructed for the Museum. It was posed for by people attending the "Premiere" Opening of the Museum on October 11th, 2001. These statues which will be a monument to those LAFD members killed in the line of duty will be paid for by donations received. We are selling brick pavers that will be inscribed with a name the donor selects to be placed around the Memorial and on the "Wall of Flame."

The statues for this monument were constructed by Honors For Excellence, Ltd. and a picture of the completed statues are shown below. They are currently being stored until they can be place in the Museum Plaza.
