The elements discovered in more recent years tend to have an atomic symbol that correlates with the name of the element.

Ionization Potential

Elements with low ionization energy found on the left hand side of the periodic table.

Elements with high ionization energy found on the right hand side of the periodic table.

Activity 3: Family similarities: 

1. The families most similar to each other are the Boron Family and the Alkali Earth Metals.

2. The families most dissimilar to each other are the Alkali Metals and the Halogen Family.
