I am a graduate of Canyon High School, a campus in the William S. Hart School District!
I completed my undergraduate work, majoring in Biology and minoring in Chemistry at CSUN. I also completed my credential and am working at the completion of my Master's degree at Northridge. Go Matadors!
My current teaching assignments include fresheman biology and junior/senior elective anatomy and physiology. Along with Coach Klipfel, I coach the swim team at Saugus High. I also serve as a co-advisor for the Health Science Career Pathway.
2007-2008 will be my sixth year teaching at Saugus High School. Before coming to Saugus, I worked in the district as a substitute and served as a long term substitute in junior high science.
I live in the Saugus area with my husband, Doug, and our two daughters, Dakota (11) and Riley (3). We also share our house with two feline friends, Milo and Patches who are litter mates!
I have always enjoyed the natural world and have a deep appreciation for the living order on earth. It is this same appreciation and enthusiasm that I hope to pass on to all students in my class.

CSUN MA information
I am currently working towards a Master's Degree in Science Education through California State University, Northridge.
My action research will be conducted on the effectiveness of the note-taking methods used by the students in my Anatomy and Physiology classes. I am researching whether the method I employ in my class is as effective as traditional methods of note-taking as well as if it is more or less motivational to the students in my classes.
