Community Service

“LAFH maintains an extensive and diverse network of community based partnerships with non-profit and private sector organizations, all of whom provide an invaluable contribution toward the agency's mission and goals. Since 1987, a vast majority of the families completing LAFH's programs have maintained permanent housing and stable income. LAFH provides the following services to clients throughout Los Angeles: Emergency shelter (up to 3 months), transitional housing (up to 2 years), permanent multi-family housing, single family homeownership, specialized housing and services for veterans, people with disabilities, seniors, people with HIV/AIDS and youth programs focusing on enriching the lives of young people.”

Volunteering:

Members of K-lab participate in different departments. Members volunteer in the following ways:

Babysitting: The shelter holds monthly meetings and has programs that require the full concentration and participation of parents.   Because of that, parents are asked to please not bring their children. K-Lab members volunteer their time to take care of the children so the parents could attain the tools required to move forward.
