The Citibank website has a homepage with a lot of links. The top "Welcome" folder has links to tabs with the following headings: “Products and Services”, “Planning & Tools”, “Investing & Markets”, and “Special Offers”. The second folder titled "My Citi" has links to tabs with the headings: “Home”, “Accounts”, “Payments”, “Transfers”, “Investments”, and “Account Servicing”. The links in the top right are: “Sign On”, “Help”, “Open Account”, “Contact Us”, “Search”, “Privacy”, and “Citi.com”. In the bottom right there are links for “Email Fraud and Security”, “About Us”, “Careers”, “Locations”, and “Site Map”. The account login is in the upper left hand corner. There are many other links and promotional ads on the same home page.
When I first looked at this website, I became confused and overwhelmed with the small fonts, and the overload of information and disorganization. As I navigated it, I was able to understand it better and realize there is good information. However, it is quite a lot of information to digest all at once.
The “Planning Center” has the most helpful information of all the banking websites. It provides articles and a large list of tools and calculators. It also has a link to translate the webpage into any language because Citibank is international.
The site has so much information that is not organized in a layout that is very user-friendly. If it were organized better, it could be an excellent website because the content is very comprehensive. The pages load slowly because there is too much information. The “Careers” page does not have good search capability options.
