1) Looking at what you have created in the past, would you change anything today? Why or why not?
I believe creativity comes from something inspired at the moment you created it. Whether it is a memory, vision or physical event, your creations happen at that moment. I don’t believe in changing what was created in the past. Somehow, it starts to undo the creativity when it is reworked too many times.
2)Have you ever doubted your talent? If so, how did you work through your doubt?
I can speak for myself and many other artists and truthfully say, YES. There are always those moments of self-doubt, it is only human. You overcome your doubts just as you would fears. You face your doubts and find ways to work around them. Sometimes doubting yourself is like pushing a boulder uphill and the only way to succeed is keep moving forward. I’ve always been able to overcome my doubts, by simply continuing on. Self-doubt will crush you, just as the boulder will crush you, if you give up. If you can just push that boulder over the hill, then doubt becomes a thing of the past. That is when creativity really soars.
3) Would you regard yourself as a creative person. Please explain your answer.
I regard myself as a creative person and every person on this planet. Whether you are an adult, child, doctor, teacher, cook, taxi driver or artist, you create every day. The definition of Creativity States:
“Creativity is a mental process involving the generation of new ideas or concepts, or new associations of the creative mind between existing ideas or concepts.”
So, when you really think about it, every person has the ability to create. Before you do anything in your life you create it in your mind first. Even when you wake up in the morning and decide what you want for breakfast, you picture in your mind what you want to eat and then it happens in the physical world. That’s all creativity is, it is that simple.
4) If you could choose a theme song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
If I could choose a theme song, it would be, “What a Wonderful World” –by Louis Armstrong. When life seems overwhelming, this song helps remind me of the simple pleasures in life. If I could live my life by the words of this song, every day would be perfect.
5) If you and I were to trade places, tell me one thing about yourself that I should know.
If you and I were to trade places, you should know that I don’t give up easily. Just like life, work is a challenge. Every day there are new problems, so problem solving becomes a daily task. If you don’t like solving problems, life and work become very difficult. Learning to solve problems effortlessly, whether your own or someone else’s, will make you an authority and will bring success in all areas of your life. As long as you never give up, you haven’t failed.
