Digital Art- Art that makes use of new digital media such as computers and the Internet. It is art created on a computer in digital form. Digital art can be purely computer-generated, such as fractals, or taken from another source, such as a scanned photograph, or an image drawn using vector graphics software using a mouse or graphics tablet.

Visual Literacy- The ability to look at visual information with perception. A visually literate person understands how visual elements contribute to the meaning of the whole. The ability to transform thoughts and information into images; includes thinking and communication. Visual communication takes place when people are able to construct meaning from the visual image. Visual literacy is the set of skills involved in the interpretation and criticism of images. It is a field of study in academia, drawing on art history and criticism, information design and graphic design, and computer interface usability. It is also a goal of education paralleling linguistic literacy. The basic skills of visual literacy include the vocabulary of concepts necessary for understanding and discussing images.

Graphic Design- The use of graphic elements and text to communicate an idea or concept. Commercial reproduction of artworks such as printing, including text, decorative techniques and illustration. Is a 1950s term applied to the design work related to printed and visual information in advertising, signage, corporate design and identity, and publishing. Graphic design is the applied art of arranging image and text to communicate a message. It may be applied in any media, such as print, digital media, motion pictures, animation, product decoration, packaging, and signs. Graphic design as a practice can be traced back to the origin of the written word, but only in the late 19th century did it become identified as a separate entity. Graphic Design is an older term for the field of Visual Design. This term refers specifically to the use of graphic media (such as color, symbol, and type) to communicate a style or expression. In practice, however, Visual Design is a better term since most Graphic Designers are skilled in more than this narrow scope of visuals and graphic elements are only a subset of the possible visual components applicable to visual expression.
