An Introduction to Julian's Instructional Web Site
My flash introduction is my splash page which refreshes after 90 seconds to show my index page. On the index page I provide Professional, Academic, Instructional, and Master's information links. This page also includes brief Professional & Educational Philosophy statements.
Most of my work on the website is showcased in my Portfolio page. On this page I provide links to my SED 618 & SED 619 coursework. I also include an abbreviated site for the CAD Design Technician program that I teach at West Valley Occupational Center. I am the instructor for the following courses: Architectural & Mechanical Design, Architectural Visualization Workshop, and Mechanical Drafter. These pages inlcude class overviews, tutorial samples, animations, virtual reality simulations, interactive maps, and google tours.
Technical examples of Flash, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop are all displayed on the splash page and throughout other parts of the site. For the main navigation I use a spry expandable menu with links to all main sections of the site, including subsections. The splash page also includes a Flash intro with screenshots of the main web pages. These images were first processed in Photoshop then imported into Flash. Other image manipulation examples can be found here. With Dreamweaver, I created a variety of templates and CSS style sheets to format and layout my site. These features allow me to make global changes and to standardize the sections of my site.
