Professional Information

I received my Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology option: Physical Education from California State University Northridge in December 2004. After receiving my Bachelors I continued my education at CSUN and received my Teaching Credential. I have just started my Masters in Computer Education at CSUN which should be obtained by the summer of 2009.

I was enlisted in the US Marines form February 2, 1998 to September 22, 2005. During my time in the Marines I served with 2d Battalion 23d Marines as a Food Specialist. My unit was activated after 9/11 and I served on a quick reaction force for terrorist attacks on the west coast. My unit was extended for another year to be sent to Iraq and participate in combat operations during Operation Iraqi Freedom. During that time I served on a security team protecting military convoys on our way to Baghdad . When my time was up, I was honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant.

I love to workout and I enjoy the outdoors as much as I can. I Love to lift weights, run and swim to stay in shape during the week. On the weekends I will either be down at the beach surfing or at Lake Arrowhead chillin out. During the winter I can be found up in Mammoth snow boarding and skiing with my friends. Summer is filled with backpacking, surfing, water skiing and wake boarding.

Academic Goals

To be a great teacher Imust never stop learning. I have to be open to new ideas and techniques to teaching sports and physical fitness. This Master's program in Computer Education is one step of many on to be on my way to becoming an effective teacher. I still must continue to learn new ideas and techniques through seminars, college courses, and readings to help motivate my students and set them on the path to become active and productive adults.

Educational Philosophy

I believe in the importance of teaching physical education to middle school students. I want my students to value physical education so that they can live active and healthy lifestyles. I strive to teach my students many different team and individual sports hoping that they will find one they like and continue to be active in that sport for their entire life.
