Okay after sending endless emails to DJ Premier, Hi-Tek, Timberland, Dr.Dre, Pete Rock, DJ Muggs, and a million other producers and not getting any replies, I decided to try some international producers because they would probably be easier to get a hold of. I sent an email to “20syl” a producer from France and he actually email me back.
1. Do you think that creativity is part of human nature or is it something that must be nurtured and learned? Please explain your answer. I believe that we are all born with a sense of creativity. It encompasses everything we know and the things that we desire to know. I believe that it can be nurtured but it is definitely something you learn and then through time learn to perfect. 2. What made you decide to follow a creative career choice (though possibly risky) rather than something more stable? Its what I love. I couldn’t see myself doing anything else. 3. What is your inspiration? How has personal experience influenced your creativity? Hip Hop and all those who've come before me. I want to be a pioneer of this hip hop movement in France and show that there are people all over the world that got love for this game. 4. What is your favorite creation? Please explain why you selected this one. Wow. that is hard to say I think everything new I create is my favorite. Every piece of work i do has its own special reason of why I love it so I don’t know that would be too hard to say. 5. What do you wish to accomplish with your art? I wish to bring French rap and hip hop and French music to the fore front. 6. How do you know when a piece or project is finished and needs no additonal work? When I can sit back and just bob my head to it. 7. Have you ever been faced with negative feedback? How was this reflected in your work, if at all? Oh yeah of course there will always be haters, but you have to be able to channel that negativity into good work. thats the key 8. What impact do you think that commercialism and the media has had on your work? Is this good or bad? Good in opening eyes to hip hop but bad in the sense that we have lost love for hip hop and made it more about the money 9. Are you a fan of cartoons? If so, what is your favorite one? No i never really was I always was into music. 10. What is playing in your CD player/Ipod right now? Booba, Arsenik, and some Wu tang 11. If you had to be any of these things, which would you like to be? a) a member of the opposite sex, b) a clock, c) a pair of shoes, d) a duckPlease explain your choice. I dont know i guess maybe a pair of shoes I dont know why maybe because i like nice shoes If you only had 24 hours to live, how would you spend your day? Living it up with my family and friends
